Samurai Jack is one of those shows that stands far above it’s peers. It goes beyond just being entertainment or animation and becomes art. I imagine it is what animation would be if Akira Kurosawasa decided to venture into that field, or something close to it .
7+ minutes of this episode of Samurai Jack teaches :
-visual story telling,
-the use of sound as part of narrative and creating atmosphere and suspense
-Shot composition to emphasize emotion, tension and suspense
– use of shadow and light
and it remains soooo entertaining. Some of the jokes calling emselves film schools around town wont teach half of this in 6 months.
